About Us

Five Former Fatties are a group of people who, like the title suggests, have been overweight at some time in our lives and aren’t any longer. For different reasons and in different ways, we’ve all lost weight, got fit and have more than a few opinions about that.

Losing weight and keeping it off is hard work. If you’re looking for shortcuts and step-by-step instructions on “how to magically lose weight eating junk food sitting in front of the TV” you’re in the wrong place. This is a place of exploring the oftentimes hard work of getting fit and staying fit. Some weight loss or fitness blogs say they won’t get preachy; we don’t guarantee that. We’re going to talk about our journeys, our learning, our struggles, our triumphs and our “oh shit” moments.

We welcome constructive feedback. Because of spambots though, we are moderating our comments. This is a place for all of us to learn from each other, including each of us learning from you. That said, if you’re mean spirited or nasty to others we won’t post your comments.
